In an island belonging to a Latin American country where there is a prison, locked up with the excuse of sexual offenses, the prisoners suffer harassment and torture by the director, dall'aguzzino Nestor and Carlos Costa, a nurse who after killing the dr. Moore has usurped the name and the place. Mary was imprisoned because he hit his stepfather while attempting to rape her, not knowing that the same has been killed by the director, his former lover. Cellmates and inhumane torture is the crazy Rosario and Berta. This, by sending a letter of complaint to the Governor, who is fighting with the staff, causes an aggravation of the situation. Desperate, the three women are hospitalized in the infirmary, taking advantage of the lust of the nurse who kill, then you give to flee. When you are going to be achieved by Nestor, a guardian pitiful kills the torturer and let it go down to the sea and to freedom.

"Barbed Wire Dolls" has to be one of the sleaziest Women in Prison epics ever created.This is Franco's first film for Swiss producer Erwin C.Dietrich and it offers tons of nudity and sleaze.A beautiful Maria (Lina Romay) is imprisoned in in penitentiary run by a cruel lesbian warden (Monica Swinn). She is accused of murdering her father (played by Jesus Franco himself) but the wardress actually did the deed.Once in prison, Maria is tortured by being tied nude to metal bed-Which frame is hooked up to electrical current. "Barbed Wire Dolls" is as sleazy as they get.The film features incredible amount of sleaze including whippings, masturbation with a cigarette, lesbian sex scenes, rape and a close up of one of the inmate's private parts being penetrated by a guard's fingers.The acting is actually not bad and the film is never boring
